Want the short or the long?
Short Answer: A Practical Woman is a problem solver.
Long Answer: A Practical Woman is a life learner who admits she doesn’t have all the answers, but is eager to find them. Her desire to solve problems transcends the spaces in her own life, from corporate boardroom to kitchen, and anywhere outside or in between. From child rearing to income tax, home decorating to vehicle maintenance, she will find a way to get the job done.
Many women are Practical Women, but perhaps some are unaware. Being a Practical Woman is all about moderation. It’s about keeping it real. It’s about being well-rounded, well-adapted and well-prepared to deal with the variety of situations life throws.
It’s about being proactive, rational, and resourceful. It’s knowing when to use the heart, and when to use the brain. It’s about knowing when to learn from others’ mistakes, and when to learn from your own. It’s about being kind, but firm. It’s about defining your own success. It’s about living below your means, because savings matter more than impressing neighbors. It’s about growing, but finding contentment. It’s about getting the job done right, the first time or maybe just eventually.
She works hard and plays hard, knowing that hysterical laughter and serious contemplation both have their place in a balanced life.
A Practical Woman never apologizes for being her own definition of beautiful and put together nor for being a disheveled mess, because she knows neither add to or take away from what’s inside her head and heart, despite what others may say. She may feel just at home in dirty coveralls as in a gown, and may even wear both in the same day. She. Knows. Her. Appearance. Does. Not. Define. Her.
Above all else, a Practical Woman is human. She makes mistakes, struggles and fails. She falls down. But she reflects, learns and gets up, confident her contributions to this difficult but beautiful world matter.
